K2L fruit Set
Early bloom, some flowers have not yet opened. The calypsis is shed and the stamens pop out at bloom. Grapes are self polinating.
An early prototype of the eKo Pro transceiver which is connected to three soil moisture sensors in the ground and transmits the data over a self organizing wireless mesh to Camalie Vineyards base station and then onto the internet. This unit has been in the field for 5 years.
Konrad Vineyards from lower K1 looking south east toward Mt. Diablo which you can see in the far distance through the gap. Dr. Konrad's vineyard oasis is on the right behind Jasper.
Konrad's old water tank and white Oak at the base of K1.
Malbec blooming. Note the calypses coming off.
Malbec vine looking good. Third year. Going to get our first taste of wine from these this year.
Yates Vineyards and Castle Rock in the background from K2L. Castle rock is an ancient volcanic plug that has survived as the geology all around it has eroded.
Redwood shade over K2L late afternoon. These redwoods are too beautiful to cut even to grow world best Cabernet Sauvignon.
Mr. J on a warm afternoon. This is what I get when I try to take a ground level shot.
Glowing Cabernet against a deep dark Redwood Backdrop.
