On March 25th we bottled the last bottle of Camalie wine with the help of our good wine coop friends. Michael and Diane Hakansson were among the most loyal.
The summer was spent preparing the Napa property for sale. This included All new landscaping around the house and pool, new gravel on all of the yard areas and Staging of the house with furniture. Susan helped me with this beyond all expectations. Not so Cindy.
Susan left in July after she had had enough of living in limbo with me, and not knowing whether I would end up in Palo Alto or Napa or ever get divorced. I can't blame her. She has since gotten over the breakup and become a good friend.
In October I met Nanette who jumped into the chaos of my life for better or for worse. It is a bargain that has worked due to some great chemistry.
After wasting 8 months and $30K on a "collaborative divorce" (oxymoron) we gave up, fired the facilitators, hired a new lawyers and went to court. On March 15, 2017 Cindy and I settled 90% of the issues with the help of the new lawyers and a court appointed settlement officer.
